The Israel Defence Forces has claimed responsibility for a strike on civilians in the Gaza Strip that killed 10 people, including six children.
“Due to a technical malfunction of the munition, it hit tens of metres away from the designated target,” the Israeli military said, adding that it had launched an investigation and was “making every effort to minimise harm to civilians who are not involved (in Israel-threatening activities-red).”
The civilian deaths and injuries of nearly two dozen people who were queuing to get water at the Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza were earlier reported by Reuters, along with health officials.
