The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) reported on the evening of 3 March a strike on the secret Minzadehei nuclear complex near Tehran. According to the IDF Spokesperson’s Office, a group of Iranian scientists were secretly working on a key component for a nuclear weapon at the underground centre.
Iran, the US and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have not yet commented on Israel’s statement.
In addition, according to the IDF, Israeli aviation has taken out about 300 Iranian launchers, which explains the decrease in Iranian shelling of Israel.
Since 28 February, Israel and the US have been striking Iranian military and nuclear infrastructure as well as government buildings. US President Donald Trump has stated that the purpose of the operation is to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. In response, Iran is attacking Israel and countries in the Middle East where there are US military bases.
