Kazakhstan is introducing a “golden visa” with the possibility of obtaining a permanent residence permit. It can be claimed by foreigners who have invested at least $300,000 in the authorised capital of Kazakh companies or in local equity securities, the Foreign Ministry reports.
It is specified that owners of investor visa will be able to get a residence permit for up to ten years.
“Issuing” golden visas “creates a favourable and predictable environment for foreign investors, providing legal guarantees and strengthening confidence in the investment climate of Kazakhstan,” – said in the message of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The department notes that similar programmes exist in the U.S., UAE, Singapore and European countries.
The Kazakhstani authorities thought about introducing an investor visa a few years ago, Forbes recalls. In 2018, it was planned that to obtain residency, a foreigner would be offered to invest from $100,000 to $200,000 in property or securities.
In November 2024, the country introduced the Neo Nomad visa for foreign tourists who work remotely for foreign companies. It allows them to stay in Kazakhstan for up to one year.
Earlier it was reported that from July 1 this year, neighbouring Uzbekistan will introduce “golden visas”. To obtain such a document, a foreigner needs to deposit 200 thousand, as well as $100 thousand for each family member – husband or husband, children and parents.
