Media: Chechen head Kadyrov hospitalised in Turkey

In the Mugla province of Bodrum, Turkey, Chechnya’s head of state, Ramzan Kadyrov, needed the help of the emergency services – the coastguard and an ambulance. This was reported by a number of major Turkish publications. Kadyrov himself and his cronies have not commented on the incident.

In Bodrum, Kadyrov was holidaying in a five-star hotel in the Kainar district, reports the Turkish newspaper Nefes. After entering the sea, the head of Chechnya began to choke and thrash in the water – coast guard officers “on duty nearby” called medics and gave Kadyrov first aid, according to the Turkish edition of Milliyet. According to Haberler, Kadyrov was in the water and suddenly began to suffocate.

It is reported that the head of Chechnya was taken by ambulance to a private hospital, and for some time he was under the supervision of doctors. Now Kadyrov’s health is not threatened, reports Yeni Shafak.

Information about the incident appeared in Turkish publications on 24 July. It is claimed that it took place at noon, but no publication contains the exact date.

Since the beginning of the summer, the Chechen leader has practically stopped appearing at public events where he is supposed to be present, and stories about government meetings with his participation have been reduced to half a minute. Footage of the last such meeting, which was published, showed Ramzan Kadyrov sitting in silence.

Chechen Information Minister Akhmed Dudayev claims that Kadyrov “issued about 30 infoprovods in the first half of the month (July – ed.) alone” – he is silent about his almost complete absence in June.
