The multinational military exercise Agile Spirit began in Georgia on Friday, marking the twelfth time it has been held on the territory of the republic. The exercise is being held at the Krtsanisi base, where the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Centre is located.

The Agile Spirit 2025 exercise is held in two countries – Georgia and Turkey, which contributes to strengthening regional cooperation, the Georgian Defence Ministry said.

The exercise began in Turkey on 21 July with a joint US-Turkey airborne operation. In addition to the military of Turkey, the US and Georgia, servicemen from eight other countries will take part in the exercise, which opened in Georgia.

At the opening ceremony of the exercise, General Terry Tillis, commander of the U.S. 7th Army Training Command in Europe and Africa, said that “this is a strategic exercise that allows for increased interoperability between the militaries of different countries.”
