Microsoft says goodbye to the “blue screen of death”: in Windows 11 it will be replaced by a black screen

This was announced by Microsoft on its blog.

The new “screen of death” design will debut this summer on devices running the Windows 11 version 24h2 update. Microsoft said it aims to “optimise the experience of unexpected restarts” and make the recovery process easier and faster.

In addition to colour, the company will update the crash reporting interface, adapting it to the visual style of Windows 11.According to the developers, the changes will also reduce downtime to two seconds for most users.

This change is part of a broader effort to reduce crashes in the event of unexpected restarts,Microsoft said.

By the way, the Blue Screen of Death first appeared back in the early 1990s. Its history is coming to an end after more than three decades on Windows systems.
