Adjusted EBITDA of Mosaic Co., one of the world’s largest fertiliser producers, grew 1.8 times year-on-year to $806m in the third quarter, the company said.
Such dynamics was ensured by outperformance of the South American division – Mosaic Fertilizantes, as well as significant increase in profitability of the phosphate segment and higher potash prices, the press release said.
Mosaic’s revenue last quarter rose 25 per cent to $3.5 billion.
Net income was $411 million compared to $122 million a year earlier.
Mosaic said it completed the sale of its Taquari potash mine in Brazil to VL Mineracao for $27 million in November.
In October, the company sold another asset in Brazil, the Patos de Minas phosphate mine, for $111mn. $51mn of this amount was received at the closing of the transaction, and the remaining amount will be paid over 4 years.
