Nothing is about to launch full-size headphones that will be unveiled this summer. Nothing’s YouTube page posted a video of an interview with the company’s designers, who confirmed work on the new product, promising that” AirPods Max users won’t be disappointed” if they switch to the new headphones, despite them being cheaper.
This week, Nothing announced a long-term strategic partnership with iconic British audio manufacturer KEF to co-develop acoustic products that will synthesise KEF’s six decades of Hi-Fi audio expertise with Nothing’s design approach to technology. Apparently, the full-size headphones will be one of the first fruits of co-operation between the two companies.
According to Nothing’s designers, the upcoming headphones will have a unique design “that says something about you” when you wear them. At any rate, they will be different from the existing offerings on the market. The designers also revealed that the design of the headphones will include a clear button layout, which will eliminate confusion when controlling music playback.
They did not promise that the headphones will be among the best in terms of sound quality in the market, especially considering their cost. Nevertheless, the quality of music playback will not disappoint users.
According to GSMArena.com, rumours of Nothing developing full-size headphones first surfaced in February when the company allegedly certified a portable SGS Fimko device with model number B170 identified as “wireless headphones”. Even earlier, in October 2022, Nothing CEO Carl Pei shared several concept images of possible in-house designed headphones.
Carl Pei said that the flagship smartphone Phone (3) will be released this summer. It is quite possible that the unveiling of Nothing’s new headphones will take place at the same time as the smartphone announcement.
