Poland urged its citizens to leave Belarus without delay

The Polish Foreign Ministry urges Polish citizens who remain in Belarus to leave its territory immediately, using available commercial and private means, the Polish Embassy in Minsk said.

“The Embassy reiterates that due to rising tensions, the ongoing war in the region and repeated arbitrary arrests of Polish citizens, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends refraining from any travel to the Republic of Belarus. In case of a sharp deterioration of the security situation, border closures or other unforeseen circumstances, evacuation may prove much more difficult or even impossible,” the statement said.

25 September, Poland opened the border with Belarus. Now there are two checkpoints on the Belarusian-Polish border. Passenger transport accepts only one of them: Checkpoint “Brest”.

Poland unilaterally completely closed the border with Belarus on 12 September for security reasons due to the Russian-Belarusian military exercises “West-2025,” held in Belarus. They ended on 16 September.

Subsequently, the Polish government delayed the opening of crossing points due to the activity of drones near the border with Belarus.
