In Russia, drones have attacked the city of Stavropol, according to reports in local telegram channels.
Governor Vladimir Vladimirov warned of the danger of drones.
Telegram channel ASTRA writes that the attack hit the factory of JSC Monocrystal, one of the main producers of sapphire for the optoelectronic industry. Synthetic sapphire is used in optical systems, protective elements of sensors and lasers, including military devices.
ASTRA reports that a fire broke out at the site.
Last month, drones attacked the Signal defence plant in Russia’s Stavropol, which produces electronic warfare equipment for aircraft and ground targets, including the Topol-E.
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian regions as well as Russian-occupied territories have regularly been subjected to shelling and drone attacks.
