Russia will be represented by Yaroslav Dronov, known by his stage name Shaman, at the international music contest Intervision, which is intended by the Russian authorities to become an alternative to Eurovision. This is reported by the official Russian news agency TASS.
On 3 February, Russian leader Vladimir Putin signed a decree on holding the international music contest “Intervision-2025” at concert venues in Moscow and the Moscow region. The Intervision-2025 contest will be held in September, and representatives of about 20 countries, including all BRICS member states, have confirmed their participation in it.
According to TASS, the song contest “Intervision” was held by the International Organisation for Television and Radio Broadcasting in the 1960-1980s by analogy with “Eurovision”, which was organised by the European Broadcasting Union. The agency notes that not only the USSR and Eastern European countries close to it, but also such states as Austria, Belgium, Spain, Canada, the Netherlands, Portugal, Finland and Spain participated in Intervision at that time.
