Russian Defence Ministry confirms ‘Oreshnik’ strike on Ukraine

The Russian Defence Ministry has announced a massive drone and missile strike, in particular Oreshnik ballistic missiles, allegedly “against military administration facilities, airbases and enterprises of the Ukrainian defence industry complex”.

The ministry claims that “the goals of the strike have been achieved, all designated facilities have been hit”.

Earlier in social networks wrote that Russia probably struck the city of Bila Tserkva with a medium-range ballistic missile “Oreshnik”. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the Russian Oreshnik attack on Bila Tserkva in the Kiev region.

On the night of 24 May, Ukraine was subjected to a massive Russian attack. According to the Air Force of the AFU, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 600 UAVs of various types and 90 air, sea and land-based missiles, the main direction of the strike – Kiev.

Two people were killed and 62 others were injured in Kiev as a result of the Russian attack. Damage was recorded at more than 40 locations in Shevchenkivskyi, Darnitskyi, Desnyanskyi, Obolonskyi and Goloseevskyi districts.

In Kyiv region, as reported in the OBA, in Buchanskiy and Obukhivskiy districts two people died, also nine people were injured, among them there is an infant. In Cherkasy, 11 people were injured, two of them children, when a Russian UAV struck a high-rise building.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that at least 83 people were injured, among them two children.
