Russian Federation: an oil depot in Novorossiysk caught fire after a drone attack

In addition, after the attack, smoke was rising from the Sheskharis oil terminal on the coast of Novorossiysk, which has been hit several times before.

Russia’s Perm region was also attacked during the night – the head of the region, Dmitry Makhonin, said that drones had attacked one of the industrial enterprises. There were no casualties, he said. Makhonin did not give other details.

Ukrainian monitoring telegram channel Exilenova + claims that the drone hit the territory of the chemical complex AKM of the company Metafrax in Gubakha. The company specialises in the production of ammonia, urea and melamine.

Another region where Ukrainian drones flew to on the night of 23 May was Udmurtia. The attack was reported by local authorities, and eyewitnesses published photos of a fire near a poultry farm in the town of Glazov, near which an electrical substation is located. Whether it was the target of the strike is unknown.

The Russian Defence Ministry reported that 348 Ukrainian drones were allegedly destroyed overnight. There is no independent confirmation of this.

The Ukrainian military has not yet commented on the attack.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, various facilities on Russian territory have been subjected to air strikes. The AFU General Staff confirmed most of the attacks, saying that the Ukrainian Defence Forces were “systematically implementing measures aimed at reducing the combat potential of the Russian occupation forces and forcing the Russian Federation to stop its armed aggression against Ukraine”.
