Six US military personnel killed in refuelling plane crash over Iraq

The US military’s Central Command (CENTCOM) said on 13 March that the crash of a Boeing KC-135 military refuelling aircraft over Iraq killed all six crew members who were on board.

“The aircraft crashed while flying over allied airspace on 12 March during Operation” Epic Fury”. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated. However, the loss of the aircraft was not due to enemy fire or friendly fire,” the statement said.

Earlier, the command said that two aircraft were involved in the incident, “one of them crashed in western Iraq and the second one landed successfully.”

According to US media, thus confirmed the deaths of already 13 US military since the beginning of the war with Iran.

The joint operation of the United States and Israel against Iran began on 28 February and resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and a significant number of other high-ranking officials of the Iranian regime.

Iran’s military has attacked with missiles and drones not only Israel or US military installations in the region, but also many of its regional neighbours, which Tehran considers allies of the United States.
