Japanese investment and technology SoftBank Group raised $4.81bn from the sale of 21.5m shares in US telecoms company T-Mobile.
The papers were sold at $224, about 3 per cent below the closing price of $230.99 on Monday, Reuters reported.
SoftBank remains T-Mobile’s second-largest shareholder after Deutsche Telekom. The Japanese company owned 85.36 million T-Mobile shares at the time of the sale, representing 7.52 per cent of its capital, according to LSEG data.
Quotes of SoftBank shares at the end of trading on Tuesday rose by 0.5%. T-Mobile securities are cheaper by 4.6% during the previous session.
