Sviridenko: 160 agreements worth more than 10 billion euros were signed at the conference on Ukraine’s reconstruction

Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko announced that 160 agreements worth over 10 billion euros were signed at the conference on Ukraine’s reconstruction in Gdańsk, Poland. She posted this on social media on the night of 26 June, after concluding her participation in the event.

“Key outcomes include: €3.2 billion – the first tranche of a new EU financial instrument; $3.4 billion – an agreement with the World Bank; the launch of the flagship European fund for Ukraine’s reconstruction; the establishment of the Ukraine Transport Support Fund; €140 million for housing programmes; an agreement with the EIB on the restoration and protection of roads in frontline regions; and new partnerships in the defence industry and energy sectors,” Sviridenko noted.

The Ukrainian Prime Minister led the Ukrainian delegation in place of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who did not travel to Gdańsk amid a dispute with the Polish authorities over historical issues.

The Ukraine Recovery Conference is taking place from 24 to 26 June in Gdańsk, Poland.

It is being attended by representatives of governments, international financial institutions, the business sector and civil society. The main aim of the event is to mobilise international investment and support for Ukraine’s recovery.
