An explosion occurred in a residential area in Moscow on the evening of 4 May – rescuers speak about three dead and 15 injured as a result of the incident.
The Russian capital’s Emergencies Ministry said that the evacuation of residents of the house on General Tyulenev Street, where the fire broke out, was continuing. One rescued person has already been taken out of the house.
“Unfortunately, two dead people have been found on the balcony of the 9th floor. Now it is known about six injured people. Employees of the Russian Emergencies Ministry evacuated people from neighbouring entrances. Temporary accommodation centres have been organised for them. The area of the fire-100 squares. Fire extinguishing continues”, – reported the rescuers.
Subsequently, it became known about the third victim of the fire, and the number of victims increased to 15 people.
The incident in the south-western part of Moscow was commented on by the mayor of the Russian capital Sergey Sobyanin. He said that now five people, including two children, have turned to doctors for help.
Also telegram channel Shot writes that now rescuers have turned off the gas in the entrance covered by fire, for this they had to saw off the gas pipe.
“At this minute, firefighters have managed to eliminate open burning. All 15 entrances of the house evacuated, the temporary accommodation centre deployed in the nearest school”, – stated in the message.
Subsequently, the publication RIA Novosti reported that on the fact of fire in the Moscow House began an investigation.
According to the Russian Emergencies Ministry, as of 23.05, the fire in the apartment block was completely eliminated.
According to preliminary information, a gas cylinder exploded in the flat. Because of the explosion, the ceilings on two floors collapsed. There is a threat of collapse of the whole entrance.
