Earlier, users of iPhone 17 Pro Max reported about unwanted noises made by smartphones.
The published photos show that the colour changes unevenly: it is most noticeable on the side edges and around the camera unit, while the back panel mostly retains the original shade.

As iTechua notes, the most likely cause of the defect is the natural oxidation of aluminium, a process that occurs when exposed to oxygen. Although Apple usually uses anodising technology to protect the cases, experts suggest that during production there could have been a mistake, and part of the batch received insufficient coating. Because of this, the aluminium in some areas began to oxidise, which led to a change in colour.
Currently, there is no official comment from Apple on this case. Users hope that the company will recognise the problem as a manufacturing defect and provide free warranty service.
We will remind, earlier we wrote that in Ukraine there is a shortage of new iPhone 17. official resellers have run out of them, and they are sold only in “grey” shops.
