HUAWEI’s head of consumer business, Richard Yu, has outlined what the company believes are the main advantages of HarmonyOS over iOS and Android. In his statement, he highlighted three key features of the company’s proprietary mobile OS that give it an edge over its competitors.
According to the top manager, HarmonyOS is ahead of iOS and Android in terms of security due to Star Shield Security technology. Thanks to it, third-party applications that need access to the gallery, “see” only the specific photo they need, not all at once, and after the operation is completed, the permissions are reset.
HarmonyOS is also present on a multitude of devices, including smart home gadgets, tablets, laptops, computers and cars. The advanced ecosystem allows all these devices to seamlessly interact with each other and share data easily.
The third “winning” feature of the OS is the Celia virtual assistant, which provides access to the main functions of the smartphone through voice control. For example, you can send a message, set an alarm or get the weather forecast. Celia is also able to recognise images through the camera, control shooting and perform other scenarios.
