Trump has stated that he believes Mojtaba Khamenei is still alive

US President Donald Trump believes that Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, who was named Iran’s Supreme Leader in March, is alive.

“I don’t think he’s dead,” Trump said in an interview with American radio presenter Glenn Beck, which was broadcast on 26 August.

“He was very seriously injured. The left side of his body – his arm, his leg, everything. He was very seriously injured. But I don’t think he’s dead,” the US President added.

Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared in public since the announcement that he would succeed his father, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed on 28 February, the first day of the US-Israeli war with Iran.

It is reported that Mojtaba Khamenei was wounded in the same air strike.

Earlier, on 16 March, Trump expressed doubt as to whether Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, was still alive. According to Trump, ‘many people’ claim that Iran’s spiritual leader is allegedly seriously injured.
