Ukraine imported $875m worth of electrical equipment: almost doubled growth

The volume of imports of transformers, inductance coils and chokes to Ukraine in January-October 2025 increased by 95.3% compared to the same period of 2024 – up to $875.8m, according to the statistics of the State Customs Service.

According to the released data, China remains the largest supplier of these products to Ukraine. During this period, it imported from there $738.3m (84.3% of all imports of these goods), while a year ago transformers and chokes were imported from this country for $299m (66.7%).

In addition, transformers were imported from Germany (for $42.6m) and Turkey (for $18.6m), while in January-October-2024 imports from Turkey totalled $49.4m and from Germany $12m.

In particular, in October-2025 supplies of this equipment to Ukraine increased by 31.8% against October-2024 – up to $98.7 million, which compared to September this year – only by 3%.

Since the beginning of this year, as reported, the volume of imports of transformers significantly exceeded last year – in particular, in January their imports increased six times, but gradually the growth rate slowed down and at the end of the half-year was 2.6 times compared to January-June-2024, and for nine months – 2.1 times.

According to the State Customs Service, Ukraine exported transformers, inductance coils and chokes for $28.6 million for 10 months of this year against $28.5 million for the same period last year, mainly supplied to Germany, Hungary and Slovakia.

As reported with reference to the State Customs Service, imports to Ukraine of transformers, inductance coils and chokes in 2024 more than doubled compared to 2023 – up to $596.11m, while from China they were imported 2.5 times more – for $400.48m.
