A senior adviser to Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf signalled Tehran’s tougher stance on ending the war, saying any ceasefire must change regional security arrangements.
Writing in X on 7 April, Mahdi Mohammadi described the conflict as already resolved in Iran’s favour, and laid out tough conditions for ending it.
“Iran has clearly and openly won the war and will only accept an outcome that will consolidate its gains and create a new security order in the region,” he wrote. The correct wording is: Trump has about 20 hours to either surrender Iran or his allies will return to the Stone Age. We will not back down!”
Last week, Donald Trump threatened to send Iran “back to the stone age” with large-scale strikes on Iranian infrastructure if Tehran did not meet the US president’s deadline and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
Before Mahdi Mohammadi’s remarks, Iran proposed a 10-point plan rejecting a temporary truce, calling for a permanent cessation of hostilities, security guarantees and sanctions relief.
