Christopher Nolan’s *Odyssey* has grossed over $1 billion at the box office

In the three weeks following its release, *The Odyssey* has grossed $429.65 million in North America and a further $578.8 million internationally. The total box office takings for the film, which runs for around three hours, have already exceeded $1 billion.

Nolan’s previous film to break this barrier was *The Dark Knight Rises*, released in 2012, which grossed around $1.08 billion.

At the same time, *Odyssey* is fast approaching the status of becoming the highest-grossing film of Nolan’s career. The record is currently held by *The Dark Knight Rises*, which grossed around $1.08 billion. The 2008 *The Dark Knight* grossed over $1.008 billion at the time.

As such, *Odyssey* has become the fifth film of 2026 to cross the $1 billion mark.

The following films have joined the Billion-Dollar Club:

  • *Spider-Man: A New Day* ($1.18 billion and counting);
  • *Toy Story 5* ($1.067 billion);
  • *Super Mario: The Movie* (1.001 billion dollars);
  • *Michael* ($1.001 billion).

‘Odyssey’ is expected to remain in cinemas, so the film could increase its takings even further and set a new box office record in Nolan’s filmography.

It is worth noting that *Spider-Man: A Brand New Day* became the highest-grossing film of 2026 in just 7 days.
