In South Korea, heavy rains and landslides have killed 17 people and 11 others are missing.
As of 6:00 p.m. local time Sunday, the South Sangcheon District has the highest number of casualties with 10 dead and four missing, according to the country’s Interior Ministry and national fire agency.
Other deaths are in Osani and Gapyoni cities, Gyeonggi, Sosani and Tanjini provinces, South Chungcheong province and the southwestern city of Gwangju.
Fire officials say rescue efforts are still ongoing in Sangcheon, so the number of casualties could change.
Since July 16, Sangcheon has received 793.5 mm of rainfall, neighbouring Hapcheon County 699 mm and Hudong County 621.5 mm.
Authorities recorded 1,999 cases of road waterlogging, landslides and infrastructure damage, as well as another 2,238 cases of damage to private property.
Earlier it became known that in South Korea there were floods and landslides, it was known ten dead and nine missing due to bad weather.
