Google has unveiled a new feature for Gmail that allows users to quickly respond to emails with emoji – perfect for those who don’t have time for a full-blown reply. With this feature, users will be able to instantly express an emotion or give a short feedback without opening a reply-writing window.
However, this option is disabled by default for administrators. To activate it, you need to go to the admin console: apps → Gmail → end-user access → emoji responses. At the same time, you won’t be able to respond to emoji emails coming directly from Google.
The feature is supported on Android, iOS, and the web version of Gmail. It’s not yet available to everyone at launch – Google is gradually rolling it out to users, and the rollout is expected to be complete by 13 May 2025.
