Owners of Pixel smartphones from Google complain on Reddit and other forums about the strange behaviour of the devices: for some unknown reason, the already not the best autonomy of the “pixels” has become frankly terrible. Users blame recent firmware updates.
The author of the post on Reddit writes that he used Wi-Fi for about an hour, but the statistics in the information about the state of the battery indicates that it was on Wi-Fi accounted for 100% of energy consumption. At the same time, the smartphone in just 3 hours and 19 minutes discharged from 100 to 19%. True, the author did not specify the model of his device.
Other users also write about problems with the autonomy of Pixel smartphones. One of them has experienced a noticeable deterioration of the Pixel 8 autonomy a few months ago. Another has a Pixel 8 Pro that lasts only about 3.5 hours. The owner of the foldable Pixel 9 Pro Fold also faced a similar problem. There are complaints about the Pixel 9a’s runtime as well. A Pixel 7 owner wrote that he had a similar problem back last year and nothing has improved since then.
“My Pixel 9 didn’t work for a long time either. You know what I did? Swapped it for a Xiaomi 15 Ultra-and honestly, everything is great now!” – wrote a user under the nickname g-rubenmolina.
At the same time, it is worth noting that not everyone is experiencing similar problems. Many people in the discussion have their smartphones running for 7 or even 9 hours on a single charge.
