A passenger train of the Danish railway company Danske Statsbaner (DSB) has derailed near the town of Bjerndrup in South Jutland in Denmark, local media reports.
It is known that as a result of the incident five people were seriously injured, two of them are in critical condition. The rest of the victims have minor injuries.
The accident occurred on a section of the railway near the border with Germany. The train collided with agricultural machinery at a railway crossing. About ten ambulances, four emergency response vehicles and four helicopters were deployed at the scene.
According to law enforcement officials, the agricultural truck was crossing the railway tracks at a location without a barrier. They added that the train was travelling at a “relatively high speed”.
The investigation is to find out whether the lights and horns at the crossing were working at the time of the collision.
