The Polish prosecutor’s office accused three Polish and three Belarusian citizens of committing sabotage on the territory of the country, participation in an organised criminal group, illegal arms trafficking and drug trafficking.
According to the investigation, the Poles (Kamil K., David P., Lukasz K.) and Belarusians (Stepan K., Andrei B., Yaroslav S.) were members of an organised criminal group. They were involved in the arson of a restaurant in Gdynia in 2023, the attempted arson of a warehouse in Gdansk in March 2024 and the arson of a pallet warehouse in Marky in April 2024 using Molotov cocktails. The latter two incidents were classified by investigators as sabotage on behalf of foreign intelligence.
Stepan K. was accused of committing eight offences: participation in a criminal group, arson of a restaurant in Gdynia, sabotage in Gdansk and Marky, incitement to assault on a person, illegal arms trafficking, possession of explosives and attempted infliction of grievous bodily harm. he is also suspected of setting fire to a construction shop in Warsaw in April 2024 on behalf of Russian intelligence. The investigation in this case is ongoing.
Jaroslaw and Andrei were accused by the prosecutor of participating in a criminal group, attempted arson of a warehouse in Gdansk and drug trafficking. Andrej was also accused of attempted arson of a restaurant in Gdynia and arson of a pallet warehouse in Marky.
Stepan, Jaroslaw and Lukasz are in custody. Stepan and David pleaded not guilty; Andrzej, Jaroslaw and Lukasz pleaded partially guilty; Kamil pleaded guilty.
In October 2024, a Ukrainian citizen, Serhiy S., was detained in Poland on a case of preparing sabotage; he was subsequently sentenced to three years in prison. According to Wyborcza, he confessed to the intention to set fire to a paint factory in Wroclaw and agreed to a deal with the investigation. The Ukrainian was the seventeenth detainee to be recruited via telegrams.
