Ukraine’s metallurgical enterprises increased revenues from ferrous metal exports by 3.8 per cent year-on-year to $1 billion 816.128 million in January-July this year.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service (SCS) on Tuesday, ferrous metals accounted for 7.79 per cent of total receipts from exports of goods during the period, compared to 7.73 per cent in January-July 2024.
In July, export earnings totalled $277.615 million, compared to $275.767 million in the previous month.
At the same time, Ukraine increased imports of similar products by 9.1% to $954.486m in January-July-2025. In July, $144.918m worth of products were imported.
In addition, in January-July-2025 Ukraine increased exports of metalware by 2.6% – up to $568.849m. In July they were exported for $57.062m.
Imports of metalware for this period increased by 7.7% – up to $658.076m. In July, these products were imported for $137.568m.
As reported, Ukrainian metal enterprises in 2024 increased revenues from exports of ferrous metals by 16.9% year-on-year to $3 billion 96.343 million. At the same time, Ukraine last year increased imports of similar products by 13.1% to $1 billion 478.814 million.
In 2023 Ukraine reduced receipts from exports of ferrous metals by 41.6% compared to 2022 – to $2 billion 647.72 million, ferrous metals for this period accounted for 7.3% of total receipts from exports of goods, while for 2022 the share was 10.3%. At the same time, Ukraine for 2023 increased imports of similar products by 37% to $1 billion 307.05 million.
In addition, in 2023 Ukraine reduced exports of metalware by 16.6% compared to 2022 – to $877.92m. At the same time, imports of metalware increased by 40.3% – to $902.57m.
