Latvia banned Russian TV presenter Ekaterina Andreeva from entering Latvia

Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Brazhe has decided to include two Russian citizens – actor Pavel Priluchny and Channel One TV presenter Ekaterina Andreeva – in the list of undesirable persons and to impose an indefinite ban on their entry into the country. About it she reported in the social network X.

The decision was taken in accordance with part 2 of article 61 of the law on immigration, the Minister said. This article states that a foreigner may be blacklisted if there are reasons to believe that he or she poses a threat to national security, public order, safety or may interfere with the investigation of a criminal case.

Russian citizens with even a Schengen visa cannot enter Latvia now, with a number of exceptions. Andreeva, in addition to her Russian citizenship, also has Montenegrin citizenship, which allows her to enter Latvia and other EU countries without a visa.

Pavel Priluchny is a Russian theatre and film actor and TV presenter.
