Orzaks Pharmaceuticals and Chemical Industry Inc. (Orzax, Turkey) has begun construction of a dietary supplements plant in the Turkestan Region of Kazakhstan, according to a press release from the regional administration’s press office.
The total investment cost of the project, which is being implemented by the Kazakhstani subsidiary of the Turkish corporation – Orzax Central Asia LLP – amounts to 20.4 billion tenge (approximately $43 million at the current exchange rate – If-u).
The plant will be located within the Turan Special Economic Zone, where a 10-hectare plot has been allocated for the project. Construction work is scheduled for completion in 2027.
An agreement to establish a dietary supplement production facility in Kazakhstan was reached during Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s visit to Turkey in July 2025. At a meeting with Selman Alimoglu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Orzax Group, the President expressed his support for the project, highlighting its significance for Kazakhstan’s pharmaceutical industry and export potential.
According to the state-owned company Kazakh Invest, in December last year, Orzax Central Asia LLP signed an agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for financing of up to EUR25 million to support the dietary supplement production project in the Turkestan Region.
