Global chip sales in November rose 29.8% year-on-year to $75.3bn, according to a press release from the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA).
Compared to October, the rise was 3.5 per cent.
“The global semiconductor industry recorded record monthly sales in November, with demand in all major product categories increasing,” said SIA President and CEO John Newfer. – “Looking ahead, the global chip market is forecast to grow significantly in 2026, with sales nearly reaching $1 trillion.
Sales in the Americas in November were up 23 per cent year-on-year, Europe was up 11.1 per cent, China was up 22.9 per cent and Asia Pacific and other regions soared 66.1 per cent. Japan, meanwhile, recorded an 8.9 per cent decline.
Chip sales relative to October were up 3% in the Americas, 1.2% in Europe, 3.9% in the PRC, and 5% in APAC, while Japan was down 0.1%.
SIA unites about 99% of the US semiconductor industry and about 66% of chip makers from other countries.
