An incident occurred in the world of aviation that could have turned into a terrible disaster. A drama worthy of a suspenseful thriller unfolded on board a FlyDubai flight travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv. The co-pilot, an Omani national named Hamam Al-Hammami, suddenly attacked the captain – an experienced pilot from India, Smith Machchar.

According to the Attorney General of the United Arab Emirates, Hamad Saif al-Shamsi, the co-pilot’s actions constitute an attempted terrorist attack. This incident has caused a great stir, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has already made several statements. He emphasised that it is too early to draw conclusions about the co-pilot’s possible links to Iran, but noted that the information received suggests that Al-Hammami may have been influenced by extremist ideology.
