Earlier, the President of Ukraine noted that at a meeting with US President Donald Trump in Florida on 28 December will discuss a wide range of issues related to the possibility of a peace agreement in the Russian-Ukrainian war. This was told by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on 26 December, answering questions from journalists.
Zelensky said on the morning of 26 December that he had agreed to meet with Trump “in the near future”. This was preceded by his telephone conversation with representatives of the team of the President of the United States Stephen Whitkoff and Jared Kushner.
Earlier this week, the Ukrainian president called the 20-point plan, which was created during discussions between Kiev and Washington, “a basic document on ending the war”. According to him, the plan envisages that Ukraine will receive strong security guarantees and the number of AFU troops will be 800,000 in peacetime.
Representatives of the Russian authorities have not officially commented on the plan.
The Russian authorities will demand that “key changes” be made to the 20-point peace plan developed as a result of the discussions between Ukraine and the USA, the Bloomberg news agency quoted a source close to the Kremlin as saying.
