Trump: U.S. faces war from within over crime and migration

US President Donald Trump said that his country is facing a “war from within” because of crime and migration. He stated this in a speech to US army officers.

“The ones that are run by the radical left-wing Democrats, what they’ve done to San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles. Those are very dangerous places and we’re going to fix them one by one and that’s going to be an important part for some of the people in this room. It’s a war, too. It’s a war from within,” he said.

He said the “enemy from within must be dealt with before it gets out of control.”

Trump also said he had signed an order to create a military rapid reaction force to quell the unrest.

US Defence Secretary Pete Hagseth called an unusual meeting of hundreds of officers last week. It was later revealed that Trump would also speak.

The Pentagon chief said during his nearly hour-long speech that the military must correct “a decade of decline”, criticising the so-called woke policy (means “attentive to racial bias and discrimination” – ed.) in the military.

In June, amid protests against mass arrests of migrants in Los Angeles, US Marines were brought in to guard government offices and protect federal employees.
