UAE oil company reports an attack on yet another vessel in the Strait of Hormuz

According to data from Kpler, with the cessation of attacks by the United States and Iran, only eight vessels passed through the strait on 6 August. Prior to the outbreak of the war between the US, Israel and Iran on 28 February, this figure had exceeded 100 per day.

Tehran has effectively blocked the strait, which is a vital route for global energy supplies, and has been carrying out strikes on commercial vessels since the war began in February. Iran claims it wishes to charge a fee for the passage of ships, a move opposed by Washington.
