Cheap wall plugs can be dangerous. They run on lithium batteries, which can overheat, swell and even catch fire if defective or misused. Such cases happen regularly and often lead to fires.
The main problem with budget models is the economy of quality. Inside there are often cheap or used cells without reliable protection against overheating, short circuit and overcharging. In addition, the declared capacity in such devices is usually greatly exaggerated.
Danger signs: the pervobank deflates, gets very hot, charges slowly or too quickly, there is a chemical odour or the capacity drops sharply. In such cases, you should immediately stop using the device and hand it in for disposal.
To reduce the risks, it is worth buying povobanks from well-known brands, check the certification, pay attention to the weight and realistic characteristics. Also, you should not leave the battery to charge unattended, overheat it, completely discharge it or use low-quality chargers.
A caught fire should not be extinguished with water – it is better to use sand or a fire extinguisher and leave the room immediately because of the toxic smoke. It is forbidden to throw such devices into regular rubbish – they must be handed over to special collection points.
Saving on a povobank can cost a lot more. A quality device is safer and lasts much longer.
