A Russian blogger has been deported from Kazakhstan for insulting Kazakhs

Russian citizen Ksenia Guzaeva, whose comments about Kazakhstan and the Kazakh people caused outrage among social media users, has been deported from the country following administrative proceedings and a fine imposed by the Kazakh authorities, reports Radio Azattyk.

On 13 August, the Astana police announced that Ksenia Guzaeva had left Kazakhstan.

“Previously, a court had held her administratively liable for provocative and indecent comments on social media. She has been banned from entering Kazakhstan for a period of five years,” the Astana police press office stated.

The Russian streamer had previously made negative remarks about Kazakhstan and the Kazakh people during a live broadcast, questioning whether Pavlodar was a Kazakh city. Internet users had called on the authorities to investigate the actions of the blogger, who had lived in Kazakhstan for some time.
