The Kremlin said it was studying statements made following a meeting between Ukrainian and US delegations in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
“You are running a little ahead…Rubio and Volts said that through different channels they will give us detailed information about the essence of the conversation held in Jeddah,” Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, commenting on the proposal to impose a 30-day ceasefire voiced during the talks.
He said contacts with the Americans are planned in the coming days and the Kremlin expects to receive “full information.”
He also does not rule out that the outcome of the US-Ukraine talks in Jeddah may result in “the topic of a high-level phone call” – Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, which will be organised very quickly if necessary.
On 11 March, the delegations of Ukraine and the United States met in Saudi Arabia.
During the talks, Ukraine agreed to the proposal of the US side to impose a ceasefire in the war with Russia for 30 days. The delegations also discussed the importance of humanitarian efforts as part of the peace process, particularly during the ceasefire, including the exchange of prisoners of war, the release of held civilians and the return of forcibly displaced Ukrainian children.
US President Donald Trump said US and Russian representatives would meet to discuss the ceasefire on 11 or 12 March.
Also, the US president’s national security adviser, Mike Volz, said that Donald Trump had decided to immediately resume military and intelligence assistance to Ukraine following the results of the US-Ukrainian talks.
