According to GF Securities analyst Jeff Poo, published via microblog @Jukanlosreve and mentioned by AppleInsider, Apple could introduce an Apple Watch with blood glucose measurement by 2027. This would be an important step in the development of handheld devices, especially for users with diabetes who have to constantly monitor their readings.
However, the exact implementation details are still a mystery. In the past, Bloomberg has reported that Apple has developed a prototype sensor that has reached the proof of concept stage, i.e. it has been proven to work. But the problem lies in the size of such equipment: it is too large for modern Apple Watch cases. This is especially critical for the Ultra-versions, where space is limited even with an enlarged design.
Along with this comes information about the possible launch of Vision Air and new smart glasses, indicating that 2027 could be a key year for the development of Apple’s health and augmented reality ecosystem. However, none of these products have been officially confirmed yet, so it’s worth treating these rumours with caution.
