Samsung has increased its quarterly net profit by a factor of 14.5

In the second quarter of 2026, Samsung Electronics increased its revenue by a factor of 2.3, net profit by 14.5 times and operating profit by 19 times; all three figures reached record highs, driven by growing demand for products from its microchip division.

According to the company’s financial statements, net profit for April–June stood at 71.63 trillion won ($49.64 billion), compared with 4.9 trillion won recorded for the same period the previous year.

Analysts surveyed by FactSet had forecast an average figure of 70.17 trillion won.

Operating profit rose to 89.5 trillion won from 4.7 trillion won a year earlier. In particular, operating profit from the microchip division rose to 89.2 trillion won from 53.7 trillion won in the previous quarter.

Revenue in the second quarter stood at 171.5 trillion won, compared with 74.6 trillion won in April–June 2025.

Samsung’s share price fell by 0.7% at the close of trading on Thursday. Since the start of this year, it has risen 1.7-fold, and over the past 12 months, it has risen 3.9-fold.
