Teenagers are among those killed in a fire at the Le Constellation bar in the Swiss ski resort of Crans-Montana on New Year’s Eve.
Police on 4 January said they had identified the bodies of 16 other victims – among them citizens of Switzerland, Italy, France, Turkey and Romania. Among those identified on Sunday were 10 teenagers aged between 16 and 18.
A total of 24 people who died in the fire have been identified. The youngest so far is a 14-year-old Swiss national, while two 15-year-old girls were also among the dead.
Work on the identification of bodies continues.
On the eve of the prosecutor’s office reported on the investigation against the two owners of the bar – they are suspected, inter alia, of manslaughter and causing bodily harm through negligence.
As a result of the fire in the bar Le Constellation killed 40 people, about 119 others were injured, including serious burns.
The prosecutor’s office earlier said that the cause of the fire could have been pyrotechnics.
The fire in Le Constellation is called the biggest tragedy in the history of modern Switzerland.
