NewVoice has published a translation by American writer Leo Babauta, who tells us how to live without compulsion.
We try to have time for everything: with work assignments, homework, sports, meditation, and so on. Eventually, you’ll either give up, feeling discouraged, or burn out, because no one can force themselves forever
What do you do when you stop forcing yourself?
Instead of constantly forcing yourself, you can find other approaches:
Add elements of play and curiosity
Turn tasks into a game or an adventure, instead of seeing them as heavy responsibilities.
Slow down
Allow yourself to experience each moment, enjoy the process rather than rushing to finish it.
find joy in the simple
Try to see wonder and pleasure even in routine tasks.
prioritise
Decide what can wait and don’t force yourself to do everything at once.
Make connections
Do things together with others to create a sense of unity.
remember the goal
Remind yourself that each task can be an expression of your creativity or love.
