Munich airport operations were temporarily suspended Saturday after a report of a possible drone near the airport.
According to AFP, at around 9: 00, two pilots reported a possible drone in the vicinity of the airport. Security authorities then decided to temporarily close the runways in coordination with German air traffic control.
Numerous police units arrived on the scene to verify information and ensure security.
Airport operations resumed around 10:05. According to an airport spokesman, the emergency services found no threat to the public.
Last October, Munich airport twice halted operations overnight due to reports of possible drones near the airport.
In November 2025, Reuters reported, citing an intelligence official, that Germany recorded the highest number of drone sightings over military bases in October, with an increasing focus on naval facilities.
