Shakira is tired of suffering for her hair and has created her own beauty brand.

Can you imagine Shakira without her iconic curls: honey-golden, soft, lively? They have become an integral part of the singer’s stage image. This hair doesn’t just move to the beat of the music – it seems to dance with her. But behind the beauty we see on the screen, there is a long, complicated and sometimes tearful story. The star revealed in a new interview for ELLE US.

“I adore my hair, but it’s made me suffer a lot. How many times have I left the salon in tears?” she said.

Over the decades, Shakira has experimented with her image – she’s been brunette, redhead, platinum blonde, straightened, curled, bleached – and with each new transformation, her hair begged for more and more mercy. To save it, the singer had to become her own trichologist and alchemist in one bottle. She mixed shampoos at the drugstore, asked pharmacists to add special ingredients, developed formulas on intuition – and at some point she realised it was time to up the ante. And so Isima was born.

Isima is not an accidental name. In Spanish, “- Isima ” is a form of amplification. “Beautiful” becomes “the most beautiful” (lindísima), “soft” becomes “the softest” (suavísima). And Shakira’s brand is about just that: not just good, but maximum.

” I need more. More care, more nourishment, more protection. Less doesn’t work,” stated the singer.

The line took four years to develop. All the products went through the hands (and hair) of Shakira herself. She was the first and strictest “guinea pig”. Because her hair is a real beauty drama: porous, damaged and prone to the very “rusty” tint that all blondes fear so much.
