Eight people were injured on 1 June in Boulder in the US state of Colorado during an attack on a demonstration in support of Israeli hostages being held in Gaza.
The attacker threw bottles of flammable mixtures at the protesters while shouting “Free Palestine!”.
Boulder police said four women and four men, ranging in age from 52 to 88, were injured.
The FBI said it is treating the attack as a terrorist attack and noted that the suspect has been apprehended, believed to have acted on his own.
The attack took place on the pedestrianised Pearl Street, a popular shopping area near the University of Colorado, during a rally organised by Run for Their Lives, a movement that since October 2023 has held weekly events in support of Israeli hostages taken after a Hamas attack on Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the attack and expressed confidence in bringing the perpetrator to justice.
On May 21, two Israeli embassy staffers were shot dead in Washington – on their way out of the Jewish Museum building after an event organised by the American Jewish Committee. According to police, the suspect was apprehended. He exclaimed: “Free Palestine”, Washington police chief Pamela Smith reported. Afterwards, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had ordered increased security measures at Israeli embassies around the world.
